Year 4 – May Update

Date: June 9, 2016 Author: Admin Categories: Classes, News, Year 4

May was a month for ‘monkey-ing around’ in year 4! We had great enjoyment learning all about the animal kingdom and how to care for a variety of animals.  We listened to the music of Saint Saens entitled Carnival of the Animals and produced art work after listening and moving to the music.  We explored different types of animal poetry and wrote our own.  We even performed some of our poetry to the school!

At the end of May we had an amazing day trip to Twycross Zoo. The weather was a little miserable but it did not dampen our spirits. There were smiles to be seen all day!  We saw all sorts of different animals, big and small, crawling and flying, water lovers and land lovers.  We even got the opportunity to be taught by an expert and stroke a few creatures.  (Mrs Stewart wasn’t so keen!)

This half term we will be focusing on what it means to be a Christian and exploring some of the Bible’s parables and miracles. It will certainly deepen our understanding of Christianity and get our little grey cells working!
