Year 4 March Update

Date: March 7, 2016 Author: ICT Categories: News, Year 4

The start of March gave us memories to treasure for a lifetime…The Beaumanor Hall Residential!

Year 4 visited Beaumanor Hall for two days and explored the house and the grounds of this amazing mansion.  The children experienced lots of outdoor educational activities from shelter building to climbing. They explored basic survival techniques which included how to stay dry and warm, feed themselves safely and collect water for drinking.  They explored the maze of cellars under the house which proved to be very dark but a great place to play hide and seek.  They also explored a World War II bomb shelter and experienced what it may have been like to have to use one.

There was great excitement in the cabins during the evening and lots of rustling of paper.  As there were no sweets allowed on the trip, the teachers couldn’t quite work out what the rustling actually was!  Could there have been a midnight feast??! Tut Tut!

We all returned to school shattered but with very special memories to treasure!
