Roll Up, Roll Up to our Circus Celebration!

Date: October 31, 2016 Author: ICT Categories: Classes, News, Year 3

On Thursday 27th October, Year 3 had a spectacular day as we celebrated the great work we had been doing this month learning all about the circus and drawing our plans together to bring a circus to Barwell.

Dressed as varying, talented circus acts, the year group looked amazing as they came through the school doors first thing in the morning and the day kicked off with a whole school assembly, led by Jay, a performer and teacher of circus tricks and skills.  Both staff and children were utterly inspired and so when it came time for us to have a try, nothing was going to stop us.  The perseverance and confidence shown to try new activities was fabulous and we really did realise that things weren’t as easy as they looked.

The day also saw the children preparing and sampling popcorn and they had the opportunity to design and make their very own popcorn box to take their tasty treat home too.  Finding hidden missing pictures by cracking odd and even colour codes also led to big smiles, before finishing the day with a showcase of some of the many circus skills that had been developed to the rest of the school.

We all had an absolutely fabulous, memorable day and look forward to the exciting adventures that await us as we move into November.  We’ll keep you posted!
