Saturday 6th February is National Libraries Day and we have a special Harry Potter theme to celebrate!

  • At Hinckley and Earl Shilton libraries we will be offering free tea and coffee throughout the day. At Hinckley library you can also have a go at making your own Harry Potter pin-badge for only 50p plus find out your Wizard name on the name generator!

  • Don’t forget to enter our Harry Potter Quiz, which is running at all Leicestershire Libraries from 30th January until 13th February. All you have to do is answer six questions relating to the famous literary character using our Online Reference Library to find out the answers. Entry forms are available in the library and once you have yours you can do the quiz either in the library or by logging on to our Reference Library online from the comfort of your own home. The prize is a fantastic edition of ‘The Philosopher’s Stone’ illustrated by Jim Kay and worth £25.

  • We will also be running a Harry Potter treasure hunt at Hinckley, Earl Shilton and Burbage libraries which families can have a go at for free. If you’d like to dress up in keeping with the theme then we’d love to see your ‘Shelfie’ photos, just share them using @leicslibraries #librariesday.
