There were 14 boys & 6 girls competing in two squads, Barwell A & Barwell B( in both squads, we had 7 boys and 3 girls however you were  allowed  5 children on the pitch to play as a team at any one time) Both team’s had five games and Barwell A came 3rd and Barwell B came 4th. DSAT Dance Off

imagesOn 9th December, twelve of our year 6 children went to a DSAT dance off at Kibworth Grammar School. There were 10 schools that we had to face. We had a fantastic time, we did an epic job. We didn’t win but we feel we did tremendously well for having an amazing routine! Unfortunately we did not get placed in the top three.  Also, we had to pick a friend  and go to a different  school teacher  to learn a new dance to the Christmas song called “All I want for Christmas is you”. Once learnt, we performed  it to the audience of other schools. We were a bit nervous but got over it – we were fine when performing!

 What has been going on!

Sports PageBoys Football

Tuesday 6th October. On Tuesday the 6th of October our boys played an extremely long football match against a School called Ridgeway for the Rice bowl FA competition. We got off to a good start but then got to a score of 4 all ;we had to go into extra time but still no –one could score. Barwell had some good chances but we couldn’t find the goal. At this time we were tired but still going and had to do penalties. Sadly we lost this match and we were a bit up set however, we really enjoyed our selves. Big well done to our team and our fantastic captain Tyler and our star player Drew Robinson.  Report by Reece, Zak, Drew (Sports Crew)

Thursday 8th October  Thursday 8th October we went to Hinckley football ground for a tournament after school. Loads of different schools including Richmond, Battling Brook  were there. Barwell were able to take 2 teams. Both played extremely well even though one team didn’t get the end result they would hope for. Our year 6 team, played 2 games and won both of them so they are doing amazing at the minute. We still have a lot of games left, so all could change but as we are amazing  we  would hope we shouldn’t lose it.  We are THE amazing Barwell! Report by Drew, Zak and Tyler. (Sports Crew and year 6 captain)

Sports PageGirls Football

On the 24th September we went to Leicester Road Sport Ground in Hinckley for a football tournament. We came last unfortunately but we tried our best at it.

Amy saved her first goal in about 5 minutes and she saved lots of goals afterwards. This tournament was really fun as well as hard. Teigan went so close to the goal twice and Keira nearly scored a goal too. We played boys in our second match and that was super-duper hard (not to say that the girls that we played were easy!) The other teams were really strong  – Mrs Foulkes says we were really good at the matches and played extremely well. Also, everyone was excited because Sam Bailey was there (X – factor finalist and winner)We were lucky enough to meet her and have photographs taken. Even though we didn’t win a trophy we tried hard for it. We came 4th place in pool 2 and got certificates at our own assembly in school.
